Our Claim
Process
It is important that you stay informed and fully understand the claims process, in accordance with the deadlines established by the law.
The different stages of the claim process are explained in this section.
1. Claim Notification: The process begins with the submission of a claim notification to the insurance company. This formal notification informs them about the incident and initiates the claims process. We will send you the contract copy by email when the insurance company sends us the claim number.
2. Claim Acknowledgment: Upon receiving the claim notification, the insurance company must acknowledge its receipt within a specific period of time, usually between 7 to 15 days. This acknowledgment confirms that your claim has been received and is being processed.
3. Claim Investigation: Once your insurance company acknowledges the claim, an investigation begins to determine the extent of the damages. This process involves gathering evidence, obtaining statements, and evaluating any relevant documentation. At this stage, we will arrange a visit for an expert to assess the damages to your home and provide an estimate of the repair costs for your property. We will send this document to your insurance company along with the claim amount. The law generally allows a reasonable period for the completion of this investigation, which is between 30 and 60 days.
4. Evaluation and Offer: Based on the findings of the investigation, the insurance company will evaluate your claim and make a settlement offer. This offer must include the extent of the damages based on our estimate, the applicable coverage, and relevant policy terms. Remember that your policy has conditions and sometimes limits. The law generally establishes a specific deadline for the insurance company to provide its settlement offer, which is between 60 and 90 days from the date the claim was notified.
5. Negotiation and Resolution: Upon receiving the settlement offer, we will engage in negotiations with the insurance company on your behalf. Our goal is to achieve a fair and satisfactory settlement that fully compensates you for the losses suffered. The negotiation process may involve multiple rounds of discussions and counteroffers, and the law generally allows a reasonable period for these negotiations to take place, which is between 60 and 90 days. You will always be informed of the offers and make the decision together with us.
6. Settlement Agreement: Once a mutually acceptable settlement amount is reached, we will assist you in reviewing and finalizing the settlement agreement. This agreement will outline the terms and conditions of the settlement, including the agreed-upon amount and any other relevant provisions. In that moment, we will help you carefully review this document before giving your consent.
7. Payment Disbursement: After the settlement agreement is signed, the insurance company is obligated to disburse the agreed-upon settlement amount within a specific timeframe, usually between 30 and 40 days after receiving the signed agreement. The exact processing time for the payment may vary depending on your insurance company's internal procedures.
